The skill is the vessel that holds what is poured in from another source. When the vessel is empty, the pouring stops. When the vessel is full, the work continues. The hands shake not because the task is too heavy, but because the source has been ignored for too long.

His word says, not that we are sufficient of ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God. The Holy Spirit is the one who supplies the strength for the lifting. The competence is the cup, and the Spirit is the water. The cup does not make the water. The water does not need the cup to exist, but it needs the cup to be held. The baker's hands are the cup. The strength to lift the pot is the water. When the hands shake, it is because the cup is empty, not because the water has dried up. The water is still there. It is waiting to be received again. The sufficiency is not in the muscle. It is in the connection to the Source who fills the vessel.

The silence in the heart is not a sign of abandonment. It is a sign of a disconnect. The work has been going on, but the asking has stopped. The logistics have taken over. The memory of who to feed has replaced the memory of who feeds the feeder. This is not a moral failure. It is a spiritual drift. The drift happens when the routine becomes the identity. The strength is for the baker. The strength comes from above. The work flows from the hands. The two must remain distinct, or the hands will burn out.

You have been given the Spirit as a guarantee, for Scripture puts it plainly that He has sealed us and given us the Spirit as a guarantee. The same Spirit that anointed the work is the same Spirit that sustains the worker. The anointing is not a rank. It is a supply. It is oil for the lamp. The lamp burns, but the oil comes from the jar. The jar is not the fire. The jar is the reservoir. The reservoir is filled by the hand that pours. That hand is God. The guarantee is not a promise that the work will be easy. It is a promise that the strength will be sufficient. The strength is not earned by the hours. It is received by the asking. The asking is the opening of the jar.

He has promised that His grace is sufficient for you, for His strength is made perfect in weakness. The Holy Spirit works in the weakness, not despite it. The shaking hands are not a sign of failure. They are a sign of readiness to receive. The weakness is the open hand. The strength is the closed fist. The open hand receives. The closed fist holds. The baker has been holding for ten years. The time has come to open the hand. The grace is not a reward for endurance. It is a supply for the journey. The journey is long. The supply is constant. The connection is the only thing that must be maintained. The maintenance is the asking.
